TakeoffDesk is a local-first Chrome extension for capturing supplier and listing evidence, building contractor scopes, and exporting proposals.
Jobs, clients, addresses, scope notes, tasks, material prices, captured source references, templates, settings, and export usage stay in Chrome extension storage. TakeoffDesk does not upload, sell, or analyze estimating data.
TakeoffDesk uses temporary active-tab access only after you click Capture, choose its context-menu command, or invoke its keyboard shortcut. It reads the selected text or a limited text snapshot from that one page to detect a title, URL, SKU, and price. It does not run a persistent all-site content script or collect cookies, passwords, or form data.
When you activate or re-check Lifetime, TakeoffDesk sends the license key and fixed product ID to Gumroad’s HTTPS verification API. The locally saved key is separated from estimating backups, and exported backups never include billing credentials. Checkout and payment details remain on Gumroad.
TakeoffDesk has no analytics, advertising, cloud account, remote scripts, CDN code, or embedded checkout. All executable code is packaged in the extension.
