Kept ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Kept mobile application.

Information We Collect

Kept is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data to provide the app experience:

Pact Data: Your habit pacts, check-in records, and streak information are stored locally on your device and optionally synced via iCloud.
Proof Photos: Solo-pact photos remain on your device. For a shared partner pact, proof you submit is stored by Apple in that pact's private iCloud share and is available only to invited participants. You can also deliberately use Apple's system share sheet.
Subscription Information: If you subscribe to Kept Pro, payment is processed securely through Apple's in-app purchase system. We do not have access to your payment details.
Notifications: If you enable reminders, notification preferences are stored locally on your device.

How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the app functionality
To sync your data across your devices via iCloud (if enabled)
To send you reminder notifications (only if you opt in)
To manage your subscription status

Data Storage

Your pact data, check-in history, proof photos, and preferences are stored locally on your device. If iCloud is enabled, pact data may sync across your Apple devices using Apple's iCloud Key-Value Storage. When you invite someone to a partner pact, the shared pact, proof, and human verdicts are stored in Apple's CloudKit and are accessible only to accepted participants. Kept does not operate an external server that stores this content.

On-Device Image Feedback

When you add photo proof, Kept may use Apple's Vision framework and, on supported devices, Apple's on-device Foundation Models to prepare private tags or encouraging feedback. This processing happens on your device. No third-party AI service receives your photo, pact text, or generated feedback, and automated analysis never approves or rejects a partner-reviewed check-in.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

RevenueCat: For subscription management. RevenueCat may collect anonymous purchase data. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Apple App Store: For in-app purchases and subscription processing.
Apple iCloud and CloudKit: For optional sync across your devices and private participant-only partner pacts.

Children's Privacy

Kept is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the app and on this page.
